extraordinary effort by everyone...don't you think?!~ Am still on the fly...off to take our Xmas Loot down to Our Place Society and finish sorting out the kitchen.

What a fabulous experience it always is for me to look up from the stage and see all of you ~ red, and black and narry a brown or orange to be seen. Ahhhhhhh..so nice. And of course..all your smiles and wonderful beautiful faces. GREAT job everyone!!!

Sending you all much love today...ride the wave of what we all did together....don't brush it off as just another day... You made an amazing difference.
Ya you......

Much love, Christina

Please send thoughts, ideas, experiences...we would love to post some of them on our website on a special page...

Radiate Christmas Spirit...

Well my Darling Elves,

5 sleeps, 20 hours, 25 minutes & 54 seconds Holy doodle!!!

That's 6 sleeps for us...Wahoo!!!

With a flurry of activity happening this Friday and Saturday for all our various pick ups!

We are heading into the straight stretch!

So here is my request:
Gather those you love close to you. Remind them what they mean to you. This is not a time to be stingy with our love, our genuine compliments, our tolerance and sharing oursElves with others. It may also mean keeping our mouth's shut and not saying the next thing that may make us right in a situation (but at the cost of love or affinity for another). Remember who you are; people up to making a difference in the world! And don't forget to include yoursElves! So go out there and radiate Christmas Spirit and I will see you very soon.

Much love,  Christina

A Very Thankful Day!

Below is the message that Christina joyfully delivered today at our press release:

Because of the generosity of the Greater Victoria community, the Annual Christmas Spirit Dinner has been saved from a very certain demise.

After coverage by CTV News, and a story in the Times Colonist, a tremendous amount of support has come forward.

There was a flurry of phone calls and emails over the following week. I heard first from the Telus Community Board, who donated $1000. That was quickly matched by Telus Community Board member Naz Ryani who owns People’s pharmacies. Everyone knows Naz – he is amazing.

Another $1000 came forward from the Jawl Family and Island Floors.

Then the Professional Firefighters of Greater Victoria and their Charitable Foundation stepped up and are presented us with a substantial chq today ~ $4000.00!!

The best news of all came from an anonymous donor who came forward with a one time cash donation of $15,000, guaranteeing the continuation of the event. We also received calls of support from local grocery partners who are providing all of our food needs.

Country Grocer Royal Oak and Safeway on Shelbourne are putting together our very large pasta dinner order. The sauces will then be cooked by Truffles Catering. Islands West Produce and Fairway are supplying all of our produce and many non food items that we need.

We have a Platinum Club that starts with a $1000 donation. We have had many businesses join and you can visit our website to see them all. It’s fantastic!

On behalf of the Christmas Spirit Community Dinner Society, my wonderfully family whose ongoing support allow me to do what I love, plus our 250 Mighty Elves not to mention the 750 guests who will be attending our Dinner on Boxing Day, I would like to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity. We are so thankful.

Our Christmas Spirit Community Dinner is saved!

As you have seen, heard and read in media over the past few weeks, the annual Christmas Spirit Community Dinner was at risk of ending due to a convergence of unfortunate challenges.
One of the great ironies of these challenging economic times is that as the need in our community increases, many of the usual support sources have a diminished ability to invest in community initiatives like the Christmas Spirit Community Dinner.
We are please to announce that a new structure of community partnerships has been created, and the 21st Annual Dinner will happen on Boxing Day as planned. We are so excited and would like you to join us!
We will be announcing the details:

     Wednesday December 14th
     Glad Tiding Church
     1800 Quadra St
     12 noon

We hope you will attend.

Out of respect for our community and business partners no details will be released until that time.

Warm regards,

Christina
